Cornes’ entry into insurance began in 1864 in Yokohama during the Edo (Samurai) Era when Frederick Cornes took on an insurance underwriting agency to cover the marine transit risks of their exports of silk and tea. Since then, our primary purpose is to provide services that protect our clients, empower our employees, and support society.
We have strong market relationships with our carrier partners which, combined with our knowledge of Japanese business standards and etiquette, enables us to provide superior service at the local level, while also advising international clients and overseas brokers on best practices that make their clients competitive in this market.
