Background

The company had provided its employees with Group Term Life Insurance and limited death benefits under Group Personal Accident (GPA) Insurance for many years. They were not fully leveraging the benefits of insurance to protect their employees in alignment with the Japanese social security system. There was a growing need to address mental health concerns common in the IT industry, and a way to improve their benefits offering.

Our solution

We provided a comprehensive explanation of the Japanese social security system and how supplemental insurance can bridge gaps. We presented benchmark information on benefits packages offered by other IT companies, highlighting the importance of comprehensive coverage, including mental health support. Based on this analysis, we proposed and implemented a new Group Long-Term Disability (GLTD) plan and enhanced GPA insurance to include medical coverage. We conducted employee information sessions to clearly explain the new benefits, leading to increased employee satisfaction and understanding of their coverage. The customer satisfaction also increased after the introduction.
